“If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, ‘Thank you,’ that would suffice” – Meister Eckhart
Goke and I have said quite a number of things about the attitude in the past. If you haven’t read them, please do check them out – “Gratitude: An important virtue for reaching higher…faster,” and “Learn the Attitude of Gratitude.”
Well, I want to practice just what we’ve been talking about. I want to walk the walk, not talk the talk! So, thank you for stopping by here today! It gives us so much joy to know a lot of people actually do come around to draw some inspiration from what we’ve got to say. Thanks for clicking on whatever link that brought you here.
Hey folks! We’re almost done with August! This is the last lap. It’s time to re-evaluate. It’s time to go back to the list of goals you made in the beginning of the month. How many did you get to achieve? How many did you miss by a little margin? Remember the famous quote from Aristotle, “Excellence is not an act, it’s a habit.”
Good morning y’all. I had one of my proudest moments this summer when I read a post by my little cousin, Ezinne Njoku, on facebook. She’s just 13, but her words poked something inside me. So, I’ve decided to share that with you today. Here we go:
“Wishing! It only stimulates your brain, it doesn’t stimulate action. Wishing is just a list made in your head about what you want to do or become. YOU!!! Have to make it happen!”
I hope I’m not the only one that thinks she should totally become a motivational speaker! So as you go through your day, remember: Only YOU can bring your goals to life!
“Outstanding success comes when you identify your strengths and make friends with those whose strengths are your weaknesses.”
Imagine an artist making a collage. He puts the picture together piece by piece. The pieces are not necessarily from the same source (pieces of scrap books and pictures), but he arranges the collection in such a way that the end product comes out to be so pretty.
For us to achieve great success, we must think of our lives in the same way an artist thinks of a collage. The only difference is: the pieces in this case would be people. The fact that no one can achieve great success alone cannot be overemphasized. We cannot do everything ourselves. We need people…the right people.
“In a world filled with hate, we must dare to hope. In a world filled with anger, we must still dare to comfort. In a world filled with despair, we must still dare to dream. And in a world filled with distrust, we must still dare to believe.” – Michael Jackson
You know that feeling of being so down that you feel like you’ve been robbed of hope? We’ve all felt that way. You might even be there right now: when everything seems to go bad all at once… You’re not alone! There is a saying, “It gets the darkest right before the dawn.” If you’d just hold on tight and not let go, you’ll get you wanted to go. No one can tell you exactly when, but you will! So this week when you face challenges, remember: it’ll all work out, somehow!
Ok people, it’s the weekend again! The week’s stressful routines are over. And we’ve long past the universal “phheeww” time (Friday, 5 pm); at least here in the US. So why in the world are you still on your PC instead of on your way to some fun place? :-p A buddy of mine went to Vegas for the weekend! Now, that’s some serious good time! B-) Well, since you’re nerdy enough to be here right now, you might as well enjoy it.
“Never hate those people who are jealous of you, but respect their jealousy. Because they are the ones who think that you’re better than them” – Unknown.
Ok today, I’ve got something to say about haters! But first, I must say, I dislike the fact that the author of this quote is anonymous. I would’ve loved to send him a fruit basket, with some ramen noodles in it (not much, maybe just a pack or two!)
Have you realized that once people start doing good, a flock of haters start attacking them? It’s almost a natural law! People watch you toil and stress to get to the top, never saying any encouraging words! But once you get there, different theories and versions of your dubious means to the top hit the mainstream media!
Nido Quebin has been a source of very incredible motivation to me. Here’s a very short segment of one of his seminars. Hope you pick something insightful from it! Rock on!
“You simply will not be the same person two months from now after consciously giving thanks each day for the abundance that exists in your life. And you will have set in motion an ancient spiritual law: the more you have and are grateful for, the more will be given you.” — Sarah Ban Breathnach
Tony Robbins in one of his seminars listed what he felt are the six needs to achieve success: Certainty, uncertainty, significance, connection and love, growth, and contribution beyond self. The last one is what I’d like to hit on very briefly.
For some of us, it might be a pretty difficult task to imagine people living without the very basic human needs. Things like clean water, food, clothes, some form of shelter. But whether or not we can imagine it, or dare to believe it, it’s the truth. It’s a fact; there are people who lack the very usual things we take for granted. The fact that you’re on this page right now reading this text tells me that you have access to the internet, you probably own a computer or some other device that allows you access to the internet. Even if you don’t have a lot of money, I’m pretty sure you’re not TOO worried about how to get food.
